Samantha Maxfield
I chose this video because the title caught my attention and made me really want to hear about the young boys story. The element of this video is emotion, drama.
Alyssa's choice
Alyssa chose this video because it was one of the more touching ones about a teen taking responsibility for his fathers wrongdoing. The boy in this video was mature for his age and expressed immense courageousness. He did the right thing when his supposed-to-be role model couldn’t. I know what it’s like to be in debt and the pressure of doing the right thing over the easy thing so I really appreciated the generosity displayed in this clip. The element of newsworthiness is emotion.

On the Road: Bringing Dad Home for Christmas
Everyone Has a Story Flashback: Adoption
Steve Hartman travels to West Marlin County, California to the Izatt household. This family cares for foster children who have lived lives of neglect and mistreatment. They are taken care of and given the closest resemblance of a normal childhood they can get given their situation. This story deals primarily with two young brothers who were received by the Izatt family with almost animalistic characteristics due to neglect.
Everybody has a story: War Veteran
Katie Curtis
I chose this video because it looked like an intriguing video that had a great story. This video is about a woman who feels that she is nothing special, yet since she cannot have children herself, she has adopted one child, and is fostering two more. The elements of newsworthiness in this video include emotion, and oddity.
Allison Moss
Ronahn Clarke
I picked this video because I thought Steve did a good job asking the father questions about the sickness, and because I thought it ended with a strong and unique message. What makes this video newsworthy is the powerful emotion behind it; the person interviewed attempts to make his Dad forget about his sickness by winning a wrestling tournament.
